Come join us at the first convening of our coalition to learn how we can ensure that public transportation is adequately funded, and that the riding public is represented on transit authority boards — and then take action!

Day 1 will be a chance to discuss our past and future work as a coalition. To help inform our future campaign work, panels will discuss the following topics:

1) The need for state transit funding
2) The lack of meaningful representation for transit riders on transit authority boards
3) How investment in public transit is a crucial jobs creator, from manufacturers to drivers

In addition, we will be collaborating with the New York Public Transit Association (NYPTA) in a rally at the Capital in support of state transit funding.  This provides a unique opportunity to bridge our voices in support of adequate and secure revenue streams for public transportation.

Day 2 will focus on providing technical assistance to our member organizations.  We will have panels on fundraising, communications, and organizing to help your own organization in its work, and to lay the foundation for the local organizing that we’ll need to move our campaigns.
